Tips to become a more positive person?

Exercise. Pretty self-explanatory. It can help improve your mood better.

– Surround yourself with people who exude positive energy. Negativity is contagious. They can lift you up and put yourself in a better position to succeed.

– Smile. Laugh. Sit up straight – keep your chin up. It could be a mental thing but your internal mind-set often mirrors your body language.

– Practice positive self-talk. We are often judgemental toward ourselves harder than anyone else. Most of you have probably heard the saying that “we judge others by their actions while we judge ourselves by intent.” When you do something wrong or make a mistake, don’t think what a stupid person I am. Instead, tell yourself it’s okay, no big deal, I’ll get it right next time. Positive self-talk, as long as it is not delusional, will be very important, and confidence is critical for your success.

– Believe in yourself.- “Comparison is the thief of joy” – stay off or limit time spent on social media. I’ve made the choice to do this for myself to an extent (I have one form of social media with about 60 friends/family I follow), and I do believe that it’s been helpful for me. “Comparison is the thief of joy” and all that jazz.
