EMBRACE ADVERSITY

Just as death and taxes are an integral part of life, so is adversity. In fact, life is full of ups and downs, battles and victories and defeats. This is life, and adversities are a big part of this grand scheme experience. It’s part of an experience that either stop many or make some to continue. However, a catastrophe happen does not equate a negative experience. In fact, overcoming adversity can be a very positive and nurturing experience that can lead to immense growth and development.

The problem with adversity or challenges in life, is that most people never take it negatively. In fact, most people see adversity as a sign that the world will end! However, this is not the truth.

In many cases, difficulties and adversities allow us to learn difficult lessons that can help improve our lives and conditions. But to face head on with such a catastrophe, we must first acknowledge some truths that may be a little difficult to accept.

When faced with difficulties, it is important to understand that we always have a choice in how we respond to the situations. We may react very negatively, in a half empty glass kind of way, or we may choose an effective response that could potentially open doors and to opportunities we did not know before.

It is, therefore, of the utmost importance that we take full responsibility for our actions at all times. We are in the driver’s seat of our lives, but when we react emotionally to our circumstances, it is easy to forget our strengths and look at things objectively. Stay positive and response instead of react.

“Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records.”
